Roxy Fritts
Roxy died peacefully to escape both current and further suffering, in the lap of her Dad, under the care of Pitard Animal Clinic staff.
Roxy was found and rescued by her Mom 2016, and right away formed an unbreakable bond. Upon her arrival to her new home and kids, she proceeded to scour the home and yard for anything brave enough to challenge her for the title of real head of household. Winning this feat by default, she quickly settled into her new life with her family. For several months she proved to her neighborhood that nothing could keep her contained if she did not wish to be. Clearing her chainlink fence for moonlit solo strolls was always allowed if you never asked permission, gosh darn any consequences.
Roxy was a special friend to a variety of fellow animals, except for possums. She has adored and taken care of several kittens, closely monitored the raising of chicks, and made fast friends with a few rabbits. People were questionable, they were vaguely tolerated. She leaves behind her final kitty best friend Francis, who misses her snuggles dearly.
Roxy had many favorite things, such as mice hunting, which the kitties lacked the talent of. This made her proud. Though she was not one to turn down her mom’s cooking when the opportunity arose, by any means, her favorite food was Stouffer’s lasagna. She enjoyed small pumpkins and yellow squash as fun snacks and occasionally got to have a dum dum sucker like her kids. Balls of any and every kind were top tier entertainment. Her favorite game being keep away, whether being the monkey in the middle or fleeing with her boy’s football evading his hands like a game of tag. Her favorite balls to throw around in spite of the rules for the inside of the dwelling, were halo tangerines. She is proceeded in death by seven footballs, three soccer balls, three volleyballs, four basketballs, and several unstuffed lovies missing squeakers. Sorely missed, those squeakers, she craved their noises.
What we wouldn’t give for another loud child-like tantrum of whining for five more minutes of back scratches (usually ending with Roxy planting her face into a pillow with a final “fine then” grunt). We wish we had five more minutes now, and five more after that. Here’s to the original passenger seat princess, the bestest boo-boo. Roxy is fiercely missed and is loved beyond measure. She is survived by a large family blessed to have been chosen to love her, and her adopted brother Opey.
The family respectfully wishes, in honor of Roxy’s memory, that others will spare just five more minutes.
